Brentwood offers an excellent public education system that prepares its students to be knowledgeable, productive citizens and dutiful, useful dependents. Boys and girls attend school from kindergarten to 12th grade just as they do in the outside world—with a few notable differences.
Boys attend school from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday. Girls only attend school from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday through Thursday. This is so that girls may return home to assist their mothers with chores and leave valuable school resources free for the more-important male student body. Boys are taught a variety of subjects such as English, math, science, history, critical thinking, etc. Girls are also taught basic reading and math skills, but their education primarily centers on domestic duties. Classes are also segregated by gender for most—if not all—subjects. Finally, education for boys is mandatory and optional for girls, as the latter may or may not need a k-12 education for the path that is selected for her.
At graduation boys go on to trade school or university while girls have many more paths which can be selected for them. Her guardian will select her path depending on many factors, such as: her disposition, abilities, appearance, etc. Some girls are married off soon after graduation, but most go on to one of the major training programs available in Brentwood. A submissive, dutiful, pretty girl with a k-12 certificate showing good grades would most-likely be slated for attending the Thompson Finishing School, for instance. While a willful, lazy, average looking girl without a certificate would most-likely be enrolled at the Happy Paws Obedience School.
It is important to have an understanding of all possible paths to make informed decision on which path to select. For example, the Thompson Finishing School produces Brentwood’s most-sought-after wives. Their mission is to help girls to reach their “feminine potential.” The Thompson program is far more intensive than the 4 day a week, half day schedule that girls encounter at public school. Students board at the school and don’t leave again until graduation—usually at the end of 1 year.
While attending, students’ days are planned out and supervised from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM 6 days a week. The 7th day allows for some reprieve, but activities are still scheduled and discipline is still strictly maintained. The curriculum is designed to build upon what girls have already learned in k-12. For instance, while most girls go into the program knowing cooking basics from school and at home, they will leave the program with many of the skills of a gourmet chef.
Speaking of schedules, what follows is an example of a schedule a new student might receive on her first day at Thompson Finishing School.
